A progressive political platform: Part III
At the salon on Friday, February 10th, Roger Dodds of Strength Through Peace will offer another installment in his effort to articulate a progressive political program, moving beyond the five issues in job creation and taking up:
(6) a sustainable economy,
(7) human capital,
(8) the military,
(9) civil liberties, and
(10) the political process.
Again the goal will be a constructive discussion of proposals which are (a) radical in the sense that they would make a real difference, (b) practical in the sense that they would really work, and (c) utopian in the sense that they’re unlikely in the present political environment. The goal is to envision an alternative order, against which all candidates and political parties might be measured.
Salon duc Tape, a public forum sponsored by Strength Through Peace, meets on the 2nd and 4th Fridays of each month from 7:00 -- 9:00 p.m. in the basement of Mugs Coffee Lounge on 261 South College, the NW corner of College and Olive. The formal program begins with introductions at 7:20 p.m. For those in need of an elevator, there is one through the Armstrong Hotel, to the north of Mugs.
