Waiting for answers
Don Flick

Two months ago, on the fifth anniversary of the U.S. invasion of Iraq, Strength Through Peace organized a gathering in Old Town Fort Collins, in front of the regional office of Sen. Ken Salazar. About 30 people showed up. By pre-arrangement, the senator's regional director met with us to accept delivery of a letter. The letter asked four specific questions regarding the occupation of Iraq and the war in Afghanistan. The letter was signed by the 30 people.

On that day in March, we were told the senator would answer our questions by the end of April. We agreed to post his answers on our Web site once we received them.

On May 2, we inquired in person at Salazar's office to see if an answer would be forthcoming. We were told "yes." We inquired again May 16, but have received no reply to that inquiry or to the questions.

The questions are on our Web site awaiting answers. You can view them at: www.strength throughpeace.org/.

We think these questions are worthy of an answer. If you agree, we suggest you call the senator's local number (224-2200) and let him know you are among those who are waiting.
